Welcome to the Tasmanian Men's Convention

The Tasmanian Men's Convention was launched in 2022 to encourage and equip men in our state to grow as disciples of Jesus in their homes, workplaces and in their communities.

It's designed to be a convention for all men, from any Christian denomination or church, who desire to follow the Lord Jesus (or want to explore faith in him). It's for everyday blokes, to hang out with other everyday blokes, do some fun activities together, and get to know each other in the process. Ultimately though, it's about creating a space for men to hear God’s word clearly taught, in a way that is specifically relevant and challenging to them.

So it's our prayer each year, that men will not only come away having been fed some good hearty food (which there will be plenty of), but they'll be fed well from the Bible too. As such, it's also our prayer that these men would go on to impact the lives of many others, in their families, workplaces and neighbourhoods, for the glory of Jesus.

You can watch the talks from past years here.

Join Christian men from around the state and across denominations to be encouraged and equipped as disciples of Jesus, with Mike Raiter (Director of the Centre for Biblical Preaching) speaking to us about The Road Less Travelled from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.

From Mike:

“One of the big questions men ask themselves is ‘Who am I? What’s my identity’. Over this weekend Jesus will tell us the most important thing about ourselves. We belong to Jesus. This has massive implications for our daily lives. Jesus spells this out practically. Jesus’ teaching is radical, challenging, and sometimes even uncomfortable, but it’s not to be missed.”

Start time: 2pm Friday, 8 November

Finish time: 3:30pm Saturday, 9 November

Location: Poatina Chalet (Poatina Road, Poatina)

Activities: There will be free time for some fun activities on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, e.g. outdoor sports, mountain biking, bush walking, clay-pigeon shooting, golf, kayaking, fishing.

Registrations will open mid-2024 and close on 3 November 2024.
